I'm Enriquez Jacquez. This ranch has been in my family for four generations, and I've spent my whole life on it.
My great-grandfather ran his first cattle here in the 1930s, on a stretch of high country outside Gallina where the grass is thin but honest and the sun writes on everything it touches. He passed the land to my grandfather, who passed it to my father, who — after a lot of quiet Sundays teaching me to read a hoofprint — passed it to me.
We keep the herd small on purpose. A small herd means I know every steer by sight. It means the pasture recovers between grazings. It means the beef we sell you carries a story I can tell you in a phone call.
Our cattle live their whole lives on open pasture. No feedlots. No hormones. No shortcuts. They finish on the same grass they started on — slower, older, and richer in flavor than commercial beef will ever be.
When you order from Jacquez Ranch, you're not buying a commodity. You're buying a piece of this land, cut and packed by hand, and driven to your door by the same family that raised it.
"We keep this land the way it was kept for us — a little better than we found it."
Values we don't compromise on.
Land stewardship
We rotate pasture and rest ground so the mesa gets richer each year, not poorer.
Radical transparency
You can call us, visit us, and see the animal your beef came from. That's the deal.
Local first
Processed locally in northern New Mexico. Delivered locally when we can. Community always.
